What is a toll free number?

Toll free numbers in the U.S. can be dialed from anywhere in the country without paying long distance. These phone numbers allow businesses to advertise one unified number nationwide, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These numbers are easily recognized by their 800, 866, 877, or 888 prefix (e.g. “1-800-555-1212”). Since 800 was the first prefix available, toll free numbers in the U.S. are often interchangeably referred as, “800 numbers”.

What is FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service?

FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service is a virtual phone system that handles many office functions without requiring a central office, extra staffing, or special equipment. When you choose your toll free number and sign up for service, we will send you easy-to-follow instructions on how to set up and use your auto attendant recording, call forwarding, voicemail, and more, all configurable online through your WebLINK Internet Control Panel.

How long before I can start using my toll free number?

In most cases, you may begin advertising your toll free number immediately upon ordering service. The exception to this rule is if you use the FreedomVoice vanity search tool to select a custom toll free number (e.g. “8**-YOUR-BIZ”). These numbers are reserved from a shared national database through FreedomVoice and will be active within 1-3 business days.

Calls to these local numbers are routed to the same virtual office system as your toll free number.

How does the Free 30 Day Trial work?

The Free 30 Day Trial includes monthly system rental, all minutes used, and all features except fees for selecting a premium number, including: local area code numbers, vanity numbers, toll free number transfers, and 800 area code numbers. On the 31st day after signing up for service, the Free 30 Day Trial will end and you will be billed for monthly rental charges and any other optional features you’ve chosen.

How can I set up my FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service online?

Your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service comes standard with the WebLINK Internet Control Panel. This online interface allows you to change settings, check voicemail, update billing information, view call reports, and more. You may also create additional logins for your employees so that they can check only their voicemail messages or change only their settings online. Read more about WebLINK.

What is FreedomIQ?

FreedomIQ is a hosted VoIP PBX system from FreedomVoice. FreedomIQ uses voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology to allow specially-configured phones to place and receive calls over the Internet. To learn more about FreedomIQ and business VoIP service, visit our FreedomIQ website at: www.freedomiq.com.

Toll Free Numbers: Important information about your number options.

Can I choose my own vanity toll free number?

Absolutely! FreedomVoice offers a free vanity number search tool for you to locate and reserve a vanity toll free number of your own. This search tool allows you to query the national database as often as you’d like at no charge. Vanity numbers are typically ready to be dialed within 1-3 business days and there is a $30 one-time fee for reserving and activating the vanity toll free number you choose.

Can I transfer my current toll free number to FreedomVoice?

Yes. FreedomVoice is a toll free RespOrg, or Responsible Organization, which means we are able to contact your existing toll free number provider to have your number switched from their service to your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service. To save time, we recommend making sure your account with your existing provider is in good standing with no balance due. There is a $30 one-time fee to transfer a toll free number to FreedomVoice.

Can I add a local phone number with FreedomVoice?

Yes. FreedomVoice is a Licensed Carrier, which means we can provide the same virtual office service offered through our toll free numbers with a local phone number. Callers that dial your FreedomVoice local phone number will experience the same auto attendant greeting, call forwarding, and voicemail as those who dial your toll free number. Adding a local phone number is a $10 monthly charge per number.

Can I keep my toll free number if I choose to cancel?

Yes, as long as your account is in good standing. This generally means that you do not have an unpaid account balance and have not had service suspended or cancelled for violating our Terms and Conditions (e.g. using the service for fraud). Your new provider will supply you with the necessary forms to have your number transferred from FreedomVoice.

Are 866, 877, and 888 toll free numbers?

Yes. 800, 888, 877, and 866 are all toll free prefixes and work identically within the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The 800 area code prefix was the first available, so you will often hear toll free numbers interchangeably referred to as, “800 numbers.” 888, 877, and 866 were released in respective order to meet and increasing demand from small businesses for toll free numbers.

How many calls can my FreedomVoice toll free number take at a time?

As a digital service, there is no hard cap on the number of simultaneous calls your FreedomVoice toll free number can take at once. We’ve had customers receive thousands of calls simultaneously without any impact on their service or that of other customers. If you do expect that your toll free number will be taking large volumes of simultaneous calls, we recommend contacting Technical Support at 1-800-477-1477.

Does FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service require an activation fee?

FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service requires no activation fee. In fact, we offer our service free to try for 15 days! We want to provide you with every opportunity to try FreedomVoice risk-free so you can see for yourself the difference a professional virtual office and toll free number can make for your business.

Does FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service require a contract?

There is no contract to sign to get started with FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service. We don’t charge a penny for technical support and we understand that your business needs might change over time. You’re free to change your calling plan, add or remove features, or cancel service at your discretion.

Does FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service “double-bill” for call forwarding?

No longer. In the past, nearly all phone service providers billed according to how many lines were in use. On a forwarded call, this meant customers were billed two minutes for every one minute of time that elapsed. Today, over a decade of strategic partnering with carriers has allowed FreedomVoice to eliminate double-billing on call forwarding without any increase to our low monthly rates.

Does FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service include monthly minutes? What if I go over?

FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service service is available in a wide range of calling plans, each of which includes at least 100 monthly minutes. If you go over your minutes, you will be billed per minute at a very low flat rate based on your calling plan. You are free to change your calling plan from month-to-month to increase your included monthly minutes.

Can FreedomVoice help me script and/or record my auto attendant?

FreedomVoice offers professional voice scripting services upon request. For basic help working out a script for your auto attendant, or to submit a script you’ve already created for a quote to record, please contact scripts@freedomvoice.com. Our average fee to record a script is between $60-$75. Review sample recordings from our professional voice talents.

Does FreedomVoice offer an incentive for customer referrals?

If you refer another customer to FreedomVoice, and they remain a customer for at least 30 days, we will credit your account for the monthly rental amount of your calling plan. That’s a free month of service per customer you send our way – just be sure they remember to mention you when they’re signing up!

Can I upload my auto attendant recording?

Yes. If you have already had a recording you would like to use for your auto attendant, you may upload the audio file through your WebLINK Internet Control Panel. You can also make a new recording over the phone at any time, or choose from one of our professional voice talents record your script for a small fee.

Can I forward calls to multiple numbers for one extension?

Yes. Each extension in your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service can be forwarded to as many numbers as you’d like. The numbers will dial in the order you list them, or can even be set up with an advanced call distribution (ACD) such as a round-robin rotation, least call time weighting, or simultaneous ringing.

Can I upload a promotional recording for hold music?

Yes. You may upload new hold music for your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service through your WebLINK Internet Control Panel. Whether you want to provide custom music for your callers to enjoy or want to use this space to keep your callers up-to-date on your latest promotional offers, your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service hold music is yours to change at any time.

How can I check my voicemail messages?

To check voicemail online, log in to your WebLINK Internet Control Panel through www.freedomvoice.com. To check your voicemail over the phone, dial your FreedomVoice toll free number (or local number, if applicable) and press * followed by the voicemail box you wish to check. You will be prompted to spell a valid user password for the desired voicemail box with your phone’s keypad.

Can I add more voicemail boxes?

There is no practical limit to the number of virtual voicemail boxes you can add to your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service service. Voicemail boxes are typically provided in blocks of five boxes at a time for an additional $5 per month. To add new voicemail boxes, please contact Technical Support at 1-800-477-1477.

Can I send and receive faxes?

Yes. To receive a fax, have callers send documents to your FreedomVoice number. Faxes will be stored online or can be forwarded to your email or a fax machine. To send a fax, log in to your WebLINK Internet Control Panel and upload your document. Then choose up to 5 fax numbers, add a cover page (optional), and send.

Can I change settings and see call reports online?

You can change your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service settings or generate reports online through your WebLINK Internet Control Panel. Log in to this secure web console from www.freedomvoice.com with your toll free number, your user name (email address), and password. From within WebLINK, go to the Settings tab for system changes or the Reports tab for detailed call reports.

How do I start a conference call?

Starting a conference call with your FreedomVoice Toll Free Number Service is as easy as picking up the phone and dialing. You and your conference call participants dial the FreedomVoice toll free conference call number and enter your unique conferencing PIN number. If you have forgotten the toll free conference call number or your conferencing PIN numbers, please contact Technical Support at 1-800-477-1477.
